MARION - Miss Sarah Katherine Oakes, age 72, died Wednesday, February 27, 1991, in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem, Virginia. She attended Matson Drive Church of God in Marion. For many years she was office manager of Holston Motor Company. She was later very active as an Insurance Sales Representative. She is survived by two brothers, Thomas J. Oakes and Glenn E. Oakes, both of Roanoke, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. at Matson Drive Church of God with Pastor Jonathan King officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Matson Drive Church of God. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
