NEED TO EDUCATE CHILDREN IN KINDNESS

THE FEB. 5 news story, "Girl wounded in shootout," says the children were walking with their mother on Patterson Avenue and teasing a dog through a fence.

When I hear about the attacks of dogs on children, I wonder how much of the fualt is teasing by the children. Where was the mother's common sense in allowing this? We need to educate children in kindness. PAUL LAUKAITIS ROANOKE
