Elizabeth Gilliam Rhodes McDaniel, age 77, died Saturday, March 2, 1991, at Stonewall Jackson E.C.F. Born in Amherst County, April 4, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Russell Mack and Osie Mann Gilliam. She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Leonard Rhodes and her second husband, Robert Lee McDaniel and one son, Leonard Calvin Rhodes. Surviving are two daughters, Osie Watkins of Natural Bridge Station and Faye Moore of Buena Vista; three sons, Earl Rhodes, Buena Vista; Pete Rhodes, Natural Bridge Station and Roy Rhodes, Davidsonville, Md.; one stepdaughter, Cathline McDaniel, Natural Bridge Station; two stepsons, John McDaniel, Glasgow; and Horace McDaniel, Forest, Va.; five sisters, Ella Guca of Yorkville, N.Y.; Mabel Meham, Baltimore, Md.; Margaret Fulton, and Nellie Schrader, both of Madison Heights; and Clara Bane, Natural Bridge Station; one brother, Charlie Gilliam of Lynchburg; thirteen grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. from the Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. William Thomas and the Rev. Art Brumit officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
