WINNING SMILE
Marine Lt. Colonel John W. Ripley is all smiles while holding 6-week-old
Alison Jennings at a victory rally Saturday in downtown Salem. Alison is the
daughter of Marine Sgt. Albert Jennings of Salem, who is in the Persian Gulf.
She was born Jan. 16, the day the war started. Alison's mother, Tami, attended
the rally where Ripley was guest speaker. Ripley oversees Marine and Navy
units at VMI, and has a son in the Marines in Operation Desert Storm.
