Hodge led Timesland scoring with a 25.5 average and was second in rebounding at 13.0 behind Chatham's Darrell White (14.1), who is also an All-Piedmont District selection. Hodge led Laurel Park to the No. 1 ranking in the final Group AA poll and a 20-1 seasonal record.
Other players on the first team are Bassett's Adam Varner, Laurel Park's Lemon Wells and Martinsville's Troy Brandon. All were among the top 25 scorers in Timesland.
Laurel Park's Frank Scott and Bassett's Tony Weeks were named co-coaches of the year. Scott's team will be seeking to make a second consecutive trip to the Group AA tournament when it plays in the Region III semifinals Thursday night at Bassett. Weeks' Bengals went 15-5 during the regular season and all the Bassett losses were to teams ranked among the top five in the state.
