BLAND BASKETBALL PLAYER HONORED POSTHUMOUSLY

Bland's Steve Lindamood, who was killed in a car accident in January, has been honored as a posthumous member of the All-Mountain Empire District basketball team.

Bland also swept player- and coach-of-year honors. Rich Hankins was honored as the league's top coach while Patrick Smith, who was fourth in Timesland scoring with a 20.8 average, is the player of the year.

Rounding out the 10-man team are Dale Marshall and Travis Crawford of Floyd County; David King of Bland; Jeff Spells of Galax; Kevin Tomlinson of Fort Chiswell; Devin Floyd of Grayson County; Joe Dowe and Kenny Dow of Shawsville; and Jeff Dent of Narrows.

There was no second team picked.
