BEING CONSTRUCTIVE, TEENS REPRIMANDED

IN REGARD to Peggy Walton's letter Feb. 7:

It is pathetic when teen-agers do something constructive and are publicly reprimanded for it. Troy Herstine and his friends were supporting our troops in the Middle East as well as exercising their right to freedom of expression.

Ms. Walton tried to portray them as warmongers. She assumes that Troy and his friends are not concerned with the environmental effects of the war. There was not a mention of their environmental views on the war in the original article. DONNA J. CURRY VINTON
