Her prize-winning entry is a hand-colored etching titled "Artist's Hands."
Kathy Pinkerton of Blacksburg won second prize with a handmade-paper/mixed media entry titled "Domestic Artifact." Third prize went to Wendy Fu of Roanoke for "New York," a print.
D.R. Stevens of Roanoke took fourth plaze with a mixed media/photo collage titled "A Protest of Censorship." "Hadassah Structured in Green," a pastel by Vera M. Dickerson of Troutville, won fifth prize.
In the youth division, Chrissy Permenter of Roanoke won first place with a plaster work titled "A Handsome Nation."
Other winners were: second place, Stephanie Bushnell, Vinton, mixed media, "Tempermental Atrophy;" third place, William Robertson, Roanoke, acrylic, "Sam Kenniston;" fourth place, Debbie Grant, Salem, watercolor, "The Desert Storm;" fifth place, Virgil C. Wong, Blacksburg, watercolor and ink, "Conductor." The AAUW show was judged by artist/teachers Charles W. Goolsby (adult division) and Suzanne D. Ross (youth division).
