OBIT-SHANNON, W.

W. Ralph Shannon, age 76, of 503 Wenthworth Ave., N.E., died Tuesday, March 5, 1991. He was a member of Jordontown Wesleyan Church and he retired from General Electric Corp. in 1976 after 45 years of service and a former member of Williamson Rd. Kiwanis Club, past president of Southview School PTA, former member of Stewartsville Lions Club and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Surviving are his wife, Joan Kittinger Shannon; four sons, William Shannon, Richmond; James Reid, Charleston, W.Va.; Lon Reid, Montvale; T. Thomas Shannon, Roanoke; one daughter, Eva Shannon Crowder, Roanoke; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7 with the Rev. Robert Phaup and the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery, Huddleston, Va. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
