Terri Garland converted on a one-and-one with two seconds left to lift Pulaski County over Stafford 48-46 in Northwestern Region girls' basketball play on Tuesday.

The Cougars will face E.C. Glass in semifinal action on Thursday. The other semifinal pits Gar-Field, a 78-37 winner over GW-Danville, against Cave Spring.

With seven seconds left in the game, Stafford's Heather Parker made one of two free throws to tie the score at 46. Garland then took the inbounds pass and drove the length of the floor, drawing the foul.

Garland finished with 14 points and Cindy Martin led the Cougars with 16.

Stafford was led by Kim Watson's 20 points.
