Frederick Andrew "Freddie" Ferris, age 63, of Roanoke died suddenly Tuesday, March 5, 1991. He was a member of St. Elias Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired merchant. He was predeaced by his wife, Cleo Wheby Ferris; his parents, Mose and Victoria Ferris; and three sisters, Mercedes, Gloria and Anna. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Rose Ferris, Roanoke; four sisters, Carol F. Francis, Roanoke County; Genevieve F. Poff, Salem; Vicky F. Rowland, Vinton; Mary F. Amos, Salem; two brothers, Michael C. Ferris, Roanoke; Reginald J. Ferris, Vinton; several nieces and nephews and many beloved relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Elias Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 1991 with the Rev. Msgr. Assad Awad and the Rev. James E. Parke officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery. Christian Wake service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where friends may call.
