Wilkins, a 1990 graduate of Cave Spring High School, is stationed at Fort Gordon, Ga.
\ PVT. TAMEKIA N. SAUNDERS, daughter of Joyce A. and Henry D. Jordan of 3761 Long Meadow Ave., has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Saunders is a 1988 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.
\ NAVY ENSIGN STEVEN M. HARRISON, son of Julius and Yvonne Harrison of 8053 Whistler Drive, has been commissioned to his present rank after graduating from Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. Harrison is a 1985 graduate of Cave Spring High School and a 1990 graduate of Virginia Tech.
\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT GARY L. KYLE, son of Melvin G. and Bertha R. Kyle of 3721 Redbird Circle, has completed training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
He is a 1990 graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School.
\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT JAMES T. WILLIAMS, son of Tyrone Fleming of 1442 Moomaw Ave., has completed training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
He is a 1990 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.
\ RICHARD L. ANDERSON, the son of Mary D. Anderson of 2228 Broadway Ave. S.W. and Richard E. Anderson of Wilmington, N.C., has been promoted in the Air Force to the rank of major.
Anderson, an assistant operations officer at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., is a 1973 graduate of Northside High School and a 1979 graduate of Virginia Tech.
\ ARMY PFC. MICHELLE L. WRIGHT, a multichannel communications system operator, has arrived for duty at Wharton Barracks, Germany.
She is the daughter of Elizabeth L. Waldis of Roanoke.
\ CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER MICHAEL LINDELL of Meadlowlark Road Southwest has been recognized for 1,000 hours of safe flying with the National Guard. Lindell, who is stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., with the 986th Medical Detachment, Air Ambulance, was called to active duty last September because of Operation Desert Storm.
\ MARINE SGT. GEORGE SAVINDA of Southwest Roanoke has joined the forces with Operation Desert Storm in the Middle East.
Savinda is with a Marine supply company based in New River, N.C.
\ PVT. KAVONDA J. BROWN, daughter of Zulene H. Brown of Westover Avenue Southwest and James H. Brown of Aurora, Colo., has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Brown is a 1990 graduate of William Fleming High School.
\ AIRMAN FAITH A. ROCK, daughter of Barbara Manshak of 4655 Ridgeview Circle, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
Rock is a 1989 graduate of Cave Spring High School.
\ PFC. BARRY WAYNE WHISNANT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whisnant of 2121 Kenwood Blvd. S.E., is serving with the Army in Saudi Arabia.
Whisnant, who is with C Co., 3rd Battalion, 35th Armor, 1st Armored Division, is a 1988 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.
\ \ STAFF SGT. LEWIS M. GRUBBS JR. has re-enlisted in the Air Force for four years. Grubbs, a law enforcement supervisor at Vance Air Force Base in Calif., is the son of Lewis M. Grubbs of Roanoke and Ola M. Grubbs of Salem. He is a 1981 graduate of Roanoke Valley Christian School.
\ NAVY FIREMAN DAVID WEDDLE, son of Sue Weddle Garland of 701 Tuck St. N.E., has completed recruit training at Great Lakes, Ill.
