FIRM AWARDED CONTRACT TO RECLAIM OLD MINE

Erosion from the mine, abandoned more than 40 years ago, is hurting the quality of nearby water and eroding.

The Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy has awarded the reclamation contract to Strickland Construction Inc. which submitted the low bid of $89,485 for grading and planting vegetation at the site.
