CARROLL COUNTY IN FINAL

Tazewell missed two shots in the final seconds and Carroll County held on to win its Region IV semifinal boys' game.

Carroll County will face Marion, 73-70 victors over Blacksburg, in the regional final Saturday in Marion.

Chris Webb, who scored 10 points for Tazewell (12-11), had the last shot bounce off the rim with with two seconds on the clock.

The Cavaliers (18-7) held a 35-29 halftime advantage after a 23-point second quarter in which it benefited from getting second and third shots at the basket.

Andrew Hawks led a balanced Carroll County attack with 13 points and Jason Stockner added 12.

Ben Lockhart paced all scorers with 18 for Tazewell. see microfilm for
