ROANOKE STABBINGS LEAVE TWO MEN HURT

Two men were stabbed in separate incidents Thursday evening in Roanoke, city police reported.

Gerald Minnis, 28, was listed in very serious condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after being stabbed in the left side of the chest shortly before 5 p.m.

Police said Minnis was stabbed in the 1800 block of Gandy Drive Northwest. Police found him in the 2000 block of Bunche Drive after he had walked there.

No arrest had been made in the stabbing Thursday night.

In Southwest Roanoke, a 59-year-old man was stabbed in the back shortly before 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Patterson Avenue. Everett Crawford was listed in satisfactory condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Police said Crawford was stabbed during a domestic dispute. No arrest had been made.
