BURNETTE, W. HOMER, SR. William Homer Burnette, Sr., age 92 of Route 3,
passed away Thursday, March 7, 1991 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1898 in Bedford County, a son of the late James T.
Burnette and Jamima Tate Burnette. He was a retired farmer and was a Deacon
and Sunday School teacher at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Eunice Bolling, Bedford; Mrs. Dorothy Hannabass, Goodview;
four sons, William H. Burnette, Jr., J. T. Burnette, Richard T. Burnette, all
of Bedford; Rev. Rucker P. Burnette, Red Oak, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 10, 1991
at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, by the Rev. John Buck and
Rev. Alvin Ellis. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will
receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home,
Bedford.
