OBIT - SHEARER, L.

Rev. Louis C. Shearer, age 85, former pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, Roanoke, died Thursday, March 7, in Concord, Mass. He was for 42 years a member of the Virginia Conference United Methodist Church and his pastorates included Clifton Forge and Buena Vista and a number of churches in Northern Va. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Eure Shearer, Concord, Mass.; three daughters, Mary Margaret Barbour, Orlando, Fla.; Virginia S. Renick, Waltham, Mass.; Elizabeth Shearer, Chestnut Hill, Mass.; a sister, Virginia S. Hopper, Lynchburg; six grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2:30 p.m. in Presbyterian Cemetery, Lynchburg, conducted by the Rev. John W. Myers of Roanoke.
