BLACKSBURG BANK MAKES POOL PROJECT PLEDGE

The National Bank of Blacksburg has become the third local business to pledge $10,000 toward the Town of Blacksburg's planned pool project.

James G. Rakes, president and chief executive officer, said the bank fully supports the project.

Federal Mogul and Poly-Scientific already have pledged contributions to match the Corning Foundation's Challenge Grant of $50,000.

Now in the final design stages, plans for the project will be released for construction bids in the spring. The facility will open in the summer of 1992, if plans go according to schedule.

The aquatic facility will be next to the community center on Patrick Henry Drive.
