VANDALISM SPREE NETS SIX MONTHS JAIL TIME

Two men convicted of smashing mailboxes, trash containers and traffic signs with a baseball bat in December were sentenced Friday to six months in jail.

James W. Medley, 21, and Marvin Franklin Gilley, 19, both of Rural Retreat, also got a suspended six-month sentence for damaging a United Telephone Co. repeater. General District Judge John Quigley ordered them to pay $2,500 in damages and work in the Community Diversion Incentive Program.
