TROUT TOURNAMENT TO START MARCH 16

The fourth annual Smyth County Chamber of Commerce Fishing Tournament will run from March 16 to June 1 with people fishing for 24 tagged trout to be placed in four streams.

Prizes, including a $100 cash prize for one tagged trout, will be redeemed from the sponsors donating them.

The tagged trout will be released into South Fork, Comers Creek, Hurricane and Big Tumbling Creek. The tournament is organized by the chamber's sports and recreation committee in conjunction with merchants, banks and manufacturers to encourage more trout fishing.
