ANOTHER `KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR'

SOME YEARS ago, an editorial appeared on this page titled "A Knight in Shining Armor." It was written by the editor of the editorial page about his son who had been killed in World War II.

Now there is another "Knight in Shining Armor."

Even when he was a youngster, one sensed there was something special about Terry Plunk. The politeness, the respect, the caring he showed for others was more than just good training by his parents. You knew that it was genuine; that it came from deep inside.

He was every mother's dream: if she had a son, that he would have just a few of the qualities Terry did; if she had a daughter, the hope they might fall in love and marry.

I believe Terry was destined for greatness. Had his life not been cut short, I believe that one day he would have walked in shoes such as those worn by Gens. Schwarzkopf or Colin Powell. Certainly, he would have been qualified.

Yes, to his family, to his friends, and to those of us who had the privilege of knowing him, Lt. Terry Lawrence Plunk is a "Knight in Shining Armor" - a Knight who will be sorely missed - a Knight who will never be forgotten.
