Lieutenant Terry Lawrence Plunk, age 25 of Vinton, died in the service of his country, February 26, 1991, at the Al-Salman Air Field, Iraq. Surviving are his mother, Doris C. Plunk, Vinton; sisters and brother-in-law, Teresa Gay and William G. Rogers, Charleston, W. Va.; Julie Christine Plunk, Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, N.C.; a nephew, William G. Rogers III. Funeral services will be conducted from the Vinton Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 1991, with the Rev. Dr. William L. Ross and the Rev. William E. Hungate officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Mountain View Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Terry L. Plunk Memorial Scholarship Fund, VMI Foundation, P.O. Box 932, Lexington, Va., 24450 or to the Vinton Baptist Church. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
