LECTURE ON NIXON, JOHNSON IS THURSDAY

Thomas Terrill, chairman of the history department at the University of South Carolina, will speak at Washington and Lee University on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Room 221 of the Commerce School.

The title of his lecture is "Sex, Lies and Audiotapes: A Second Look at Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon." The lecture is open to the public.

This year, Terrill and co-author William J. Cooper published "The American South: A History." His other publications include "The American South Comes of Age," edited with Jack Bass, which as used as a PBS television course.

In 1990, Terrill served as a history professor at the University of Genoa as a Fulbright Scholar.
