FULLER PITCHES FERRUM TO 4-3 BASEBALL VICTORY

Robert Fuller pitched eight innings, striking out eight and allowing just four hits as Ferrum edged Rutgers Newark 4-3 in baseball Saturday.

With the score 3-3, Panthers' shortstop Eric Owens drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. Ferrum (5-1) is ranked seventh in NCAA Division III. It was the season opener for Rutgers Newark.
