Groce, a junior selected the tournament's most valuable player, scored 27 points to lead the Lady Highlanders (13-17) to their fourth Big South title in five years.
Junior Becky Harden scored four points and grabbed six rebounds. She was selected to the all-tournament team along with Groce after scoring a career high 28 points in the semifinals against Augusta.
Campbell's Tammy Brown, the Big South player of the year, scored 28 points and made the all-tournament team along with teammate Laurie Hood, who had 19 points. Augusta's Debbie Born was the other player on the all-tournament team.
Radford, which lost twice during the regular season to the Lady Camels, held a 33-31 halftime lead and led by eight points in the second half.
Hood's 15-footer from the right baseline with seven seconds left gave Campbell (22-7) its only lead of the second half, 64-63.
Radford called its last timeout with six seconds remaining, setting up Groce's heroics.
Big South Freshman of the Year Shannon Wilkey added 13 points for Radford, which outrebounded the Lady Camels 43-36. Brown finished with 13 rebounds for Campbell, and Jill Hilton grabbed 15 for Radford. see microfilm for box
