MAROONS FALL 9-8 IN LACROSSE

Rick Burkman scored three goals to lead Salisbury State past Roanoke 9-8 in men's lacrosse Saturday.

With 2:16 remaining and the Maroons leading 8-7, Burkman's goal tied the score. Burkman came back just over a minute later to score the winning goal unassisted.

The Sea Gulls (1-0) are ranked fourth in Division III.

Ninth-ranked Roanoke (0-2) was led by Brett Smith's two goals. Staff
