WHITE-LIPES
Deborah Faye Lipes and Carlton Elliott White, Jr., were married March 2,
1991, in Salem Presbyterian Church. Dr. Wilfred B. Webb, Jr., officiated. The
reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. The maid of honor was
Julie A. Lipes of Salem, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Stephanie
B. Lipes, sister-in-law of the bride; Barbara S. Gray; Christy White, sister
of the groom, all of Roanoke. The best man was Steve Smith of Roanoke. The
ushers were Steven White, brother of the groom; Tony Peters and John
Shellabarger, all of Roanoke. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Walter M.
Lipes, Jr., of Salem and the late Walter M. Lipes, Jr. She graduated from
Roanoke College. The groom is the son of Mr. C. E. White of Roanoke and Ms.
Barbara White of Roanoke. He graduated from Virginia Tech. The newlyweds will
live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Disney World, Florida.
