Showtimers has scheduled auditions for their next production, "Brighton Beach Memoirs." Tryouts will be held Sunday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at the Showtimers' McVitty Road Studio.
Director Jeff Walker will cast two teen-age girls, one teen-age boy, one young adult male, one adult male and two adult females.
"Brighton Beach Memoirs" is Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical play about a Depression-era family.
The show will run from April 25-May 5. Call 389-8866.
Friends of Festival
Roanoke's Festival in the Park has announced the formation of "Friends of Festival," a fund-raising campaign designed to encourage individual support of the event.
The categories of participation and their benefits are: $25, two festival buttons for admission to all concerts and one "Friends of Festival" T-shirt; $125, one ticket to festival gala, two buttons, two T-shirts; $250, two gala tickets, five buttons, two T-shirts; and $500, four gala tickets, 10 buttons, four T-shirts.
Supporters will also receive special seating at the festival and events held at Victory Stadium.
