Todd Strosnider, 25, and his daughters, Jessica, 3, and Brittany, 2, were found dead in Strosnider's pickup truck Saturday night, Sheriff's Lt. D.H. Frye said.
All three were shot once in the head with a .44-caliber handgun after what authorities called a domestic dispute.
Another man, Larry Clark, was wounded in an earlier shooting, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.
Clark, 22, was taken to the Winchester Medical Center and listed in satisfactory condition Sunday.
The three bodies have been sent to the medical examiner's office in Fairfax. Autopsies are scheduled for today.
Authorities said Strosnider went to the home of his ex-wife, Stephanie Strosnider, at the Forest Lake Estates Modular Home Park, and confronted Clark, her boyfriend.
Frye said Strosnider shot Clark once in the leg, then fled the scene. Sheriff's deputies found the bodies of the man and the two girls about half an hour later in the truck.
The divorced couple had joint custody of the daughters, with the girls being in their father's care at the time of the shootings.
