HUDDLESTON - Lucian Arthur Dowdy, age 68, of Route 2, passed away Monday, March 11, 1991 in the Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born May 8, 1922 in Bedford County, a son of Ruth Burnette Dowdy and the late Hampton Dowdy. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Huddleston United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Maxine Ashwell Dowdy; one brother, Lewis C. Dowdy, Lynch Station; one sister, Margaret Dowdy Cutshaw; Huddleston; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 13, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston, by the Rev. George Simmons. Interment will be in the Leftwich Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
