CBS Sports begins its exclusive coverage of the NCAA tourney on Thursday and Friday with shows from noon-5 p.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight. The 32 first-round games will be regionalized to affiliates.
UVa's game in Salt Lake City, to be called by Mel Proctor and Jack Givens, will be followed locally on WDBJ by the East first-rounder between Syracuse and Richmond at College Park, Md., at 9:55 p.m.
The afternoon doubleheader begins at 12:30 p.m., with Duke-Northeast Louisiana in the Midwest Region, followed by the North Carolina State-Southern Mississippi game at 2:40 p.m.
CBS Sports' coverage begins at noon, and viewers will see pieces of other live games as cut-ins when games of local interest aren't shown.
The network will announce its Friday schedule today. North Carolina-Northeastern is certain to be the Friday night first game, but there's an ACC conflict at 10 p.m., with Georgia Tech meeting DePaul and Wake Forest facing Louisiana Tech.
ESPN, which has lost a share of NCAA first-round rights because of the new CBS-NCAA $1 billion, seven-year contract, will televise part of the NIT.
An NIT tripleheader on the cable network Wednesday night begins with James Madison's visit to Providence at 7:30.
