FAYED, ANDERSON ALL-REGION

Roanoke Valley District basketball player of the year Mike Fayed of Cave Spring and Troy Anderson of champion Patrick Henry have been chosen to the Group AAA Northwestern region boys' basketball team selected by the region's coaches.

Fayed averaged 20.9 points a game and was third in Timesland scoring. He's headed to Winthrop College in the Big South on a basketball scholarship.

Anderson was PH's leading scorer with a 16.7 average as he paced the Patriots to the RVD's regular-season championship. Patrick Henry's Timmy Basham and William Fleming's Dontel Arrington were named to the second team.
