TECH GOLFERS NINTH IN FLORIDA TOURNAMENT

Virginia Tech was tied for ninth after Monday's first round of the Budget Rent A Car-University of Central Florida men's college golf tournament.

Fourth-ranked Arizona and No. 7 Central Florida each shot 4-over-par 292 to take the first-round lead. Tech's total was 302.

The 18-team tournament, which includes eight nationally ranked teams, will conclude today.
