GUNMAN KILLED AFTER DINWIDDIE ROBBERY

State police were investigating the shooting death of a Petersburg man and the wounding of a sheriff's deputy following a robbery at a county store.

The shootings occurred after an armed robbery at Harrison's Grocery No. 2 around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Deputy Michael K. Hall was wounded and a man identified as Danny Lynn Botts was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire. - Associated Press
