ANDERSON, CHARLOTTE G.

Charlotte Graves Anderson passed away Monday evening at Friendship Manor after a long illness. The youngest of twelve children, Charlotte was born June 1, 1903 in Pittsylvania County. She grew up in Virginia living in various cities including Rocky Mount and Richmond prior to her marriage to Dr. Edward H. Anderson, originally of Green Pond, Va. She and Dr. Anderson presided most of their married lives in Tuscaloosa, Ala. where Dr. Anderson was a Professor of Economics and head of the graduate business program at the University of Alabama. Following Dr. Anderson's death in 1964, Charlotte returned to Roanoke and resided in the area for the last 27 years. Charlotte is survived by one sister, Helen Graves Klise of Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews including Sally Wagner of West Chester, Pa.; Nancy Pullen of Berkley, Calif.; Charlotte Treece of Wylie, Texas; and Harold Pullen of Emeryville, Calif. as well as dozens of great-great nieces and nephews. A brief service will be held Thursday, March 14, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Roanoke followed by a brief graveside service at Siloam United Methodist Church in Toshes, Va. at 12:00 p.m. Thursday.
