SHOPPING NETWORK PLANS JOINT VENTURE

Home Shopping Network Inc., operating a distribution center in Salem, said Tuesday it plans a joint venture to provide general entertainment, movies, home shopping and other programs to satellite and cable television viewers. Other partners in the project are SkyPix Corp. and Northwest StarScan Limited Partnership. They plan to offer direct broadcast satellite service.
