OBIT ASH, A.

Mrs. Alverda H. Ash, age 81, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 12, 1991. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Douglas W. Ash and Henry O. Simmons. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include a son, Glyn D. Ash, and wife, Carolle, of Roanoke; a sister, Mamie H. Tyler, Roanoke; grandchildren, Christopher and Catherine; and the children and grandchildren of Henry O. Simmons. A funeral service will be conducted at the graveside 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 1991, at Sherwood Memorial Park, by the Rev. Fred W. Devan. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
