UNCLAIMED LOTTO PRIZES LOSING DAILY INTEREST

The person holding an $11.7 million Lotto ticket is losing $95 in interest for each day he or she doesn't come forward, a Virginia Lottery spokeswoman said.

Cherie Phaup said officials are still awaiting a call from the person who bought the winning ticket three weeks ago at a Hampton 7-Eleven.

"This is the longest we've gone without hearing from somebody," she said.

The person who bought last Saturday's $14.9 million Lotto ticket at a Denbigh 7-Eleven also had not contacted the lottery office Tuesday, Phaup said.

If the prize is not claimed within 180 days, the money goes into the state's school construction fund.
