Police said today that a man entered the Starlite Motel in the 4400 block of Melrose Avenue Northwest about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and asked for a room.
He then pulled a knife, placed it to the clerk's chest and demanded money, police said. The clerk was cut in the hand during a brief struggle, but apparently was not seriously injured.
The robber then forced the clerk into a back room and fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said.
