Mary Elizabeth Hardbarger Clem, 88, of Narrows, died Tuesday, March 12, 1991. She was born in Covington, Va. on February 9, 1903 and was the daughter of the late Henry Issac and Mollie Bane Brown Hardbarger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Clem; three grandsons, Frazier Lee Mulkey, Rodney Lee Hodge, Jospeh Leroy Weed. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Pearisburg, Va. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Y. Spicer, Miss Emily L. Clem, both of Narrows; Mrs. Mary Betsy C. Hodge, Salem; Mrs. JoAnn C. McCroskey, Rich Creek; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church in Pearisburg with Rev. Blanche Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington, Va. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
