UNION VOTE SOUGHT AT ROANOKE GAS CO.

Clerical workers at Roanoke Gas Co. have asked for an election to determine if they should be represented by the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, the company said Wednesday.

The National Labor Relations Board has set a hearing March 21 to decide if the number in the bargaining unit for an election will be 25 or 40 employees. About 65 of the service employees already are represented by the union. - Staff report
