HILL TOP BOWLER GETS RARE 804 SERIES

Bobby Hogan of Roanoke accomplished a rare bowling feat Wednesday night, reaching the 800-series mark with an 804 during league play at Hill Top Lanes.

Hogan, 27, rolled games of 279, 236 and 289 for the Roanoke Fruit and Produce team in the Bowling Green Men's Handicap League. His average is 213.

Hogan said he missed a spare midway in the second game, keeping him from beating his best series of 814, reached March 30, 1989. - Staff report
