MOURNERS REMEMBER SLAIN 7-YEAR-OLD BOY

Bagpipes played "Amazing Grace" as mourners remembered a 7-year-old boy slain with a playmate.

The funeral for Christopher S. Weaver, a Birdneck Elementary School second-grader who was born in Scotland, was conducted Tuesday, a week after he and Daniel Geier, 9, were found slain.

Tamara Weaver, the boy's mother, is in the Navy and was on the USS Yellowstone in the Persian Gulf when her son was killed. She returned home Sunday.

The two boys disappeared March 4 while riding their bicycles.

Shawn Novak, a 16-year-old boy who lives in the same neighborhood, was arrested Saturday and charged in the slayings.
