APPEALS COURT UPHOLDS NUDITY CONVICTION

A federal appeals court today upheld a woman's conviction for removing her bathing suit top while walking along the beach at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the woman, Jeanine Biocic, violated a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regulation that bans any "act of indecency" at the refuge in Accomack County. She had appealed her conviction and a $25 fine imposed by a federal magistrate.
