James Russell Jones, of 1217 Staunton Ave., N.W., died Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Letha Barnette Jones; one daughter, Ms. Gloria Jones; a grandson, Andre D. Jones, all of Roanoke; three sisters, Ms. Letha J. Jones, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Alberta J. Neal, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Lottie J. Mitchell, New York City, N.Y.; three brothers, Roger W. Jones; Bascil Jones; and Ezra M. Jones, all of Roanoke; two brothers-in-law, Claiborn Neal, Minneapolis, Minn.; Robert G. Mitchell, New York City, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Regina H. Jones; Mrs. Betty F. Jones, both of Roanoke; one brother-in-law, Jacob M. Barnette, Jr., Roanoke; two aunts, Ms. Glovenia Wright; Mrs. Nellie Wright; nieces; nephews and other relatives. Services will be Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel, with Dr. Herman Word officiating. Burial will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
