VA. TECH'S WINSLOW PINNED IN 1ST ROUND

Virginia Tech's Dante Winslow was pinned in the second period by 10th seed Willie Short of Minnesota in the 150-pound division first round of the NCAA Wrestling Championships on Thursday.

Short will face Cleveland State's Mike Carpenter in the second round. If Short wins, Winslow will meet Carpenter in the wrestle backs. If Short loses, Winslow is out of the tournament.

Several state universities are represented at the event, being held at Carver Hawkeye Arena. Here are their results:
