CHATHAM WOMAN DIES IN FRANKLIN ACCIDENT

A 22-year-old Chatham woman died early today from injuries she received in a single-car accident in Franklin County, state police said.

Lisa Jean Greer of Route 4, Chatham, died at 1:30 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Hospital after she was injured in an 11:50 p.m. accident Thursday at the intersection of Virginia 890 and Virginia 935.

Greer was traveling north on Virginia 890 in a 1977 Chevette, state police said today. It was unclear whether she was the driver or a passenger in the car.

The car ran off the left side of the road, went down an embankment and overturned, police said.
