AFFIDAVIT SAYS TEEN CONFESSED TO KILLINGS

A 16-year-old boy confessed to killing two young boys found in a wooded area near their homes, a search warrant affidavit says.

Shawn Paul Novak told police that he used a knife to kill Daniel Wayne Geier, 9, and Christopher Scot Weaver, 7, according to a sworn statement signed by Detective J.D. Price and filed in Circuit Court.

The admission came Saturday during an interview with Detective Shawn Hoffman, the affidavit said.

The bodies of the boys were found March 5, partially buried in woods near Wadsworth Homes, where Novak and the two boys lived. Their throats had been cut.
