TERRY, GEORGE W.

George Washington Terry, age 77, of 126 Greenwood Drive, Madison Heights, died Thursday, March 14, 1991, in Lynchburg General Hospital. His wife was the late Letha Fay Wickline Terry. Born October 24, 1913, in Sweet Chalybeate Springs, Va., he was a son of the late Walter Samuel Terry and Caralie Masters Terry. He was a retired employee of Sisson & Ryan Construction Company. He was also a member of T. Wiley Davis Odd Fellows Lodge #1, Madison Heights and Rebekah Lodge #22, and he was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Raines. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James R. Terry and Wanda J. Terry of Christiansburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Katherine Dix and James M. Dix of Madison Heights; one brother, Cecil D. Terry of Christiansburg; two sisters, Ethleen Linkous of Lorain, Ohio; Christine Dale of Merrit, N.C.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. today at Whitten Monelison Chapel and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg.
