Charles Payne Wingfield, age 77, died March 14, 1991, in a Lexington hospital. He was born November 22, 1912, in North Carolina. Surviving are his wife, Nell Virginia Draper Wingfield; two sons, Kenneth Wingfield, Chester; Phillip Wingfield, Henrico County; two daughters, Carol Gammon, Chesterfield; Nancy Weakley, Powhatan; two brothers, Banner and George Wingfield, both of Reedsville, N.C.; one sister, Ruby Wingfield, Madison, N.C.; two stepsons, Tommy and Eddie Harrison, both of Virginia Beach; ten grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted, 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Lomax Funeral Chapel. The burial and a graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
